300: Short-distance, fast-paced archery competition. 10 rounds, 3 arrows per round at 20 yards. Maximum Score is 300 (30 arrows x 10 points each). Whiteboard will be used, hang it on the whiteboard mount on the telephone pole/hunting stand support. Targets: Use either the larger targets or the triple-circle targets (triple target preferred, but all shooters must use the same target).
600: Short-to-Long distance, fast-paced archery competition. 7 rounds, 5 arrows each round, at varying distances from 20 to 50 yards in 5 yard increments. Maximum Score is 600 (see example below). Your rounds from 35 – 50 are weighted and have multipliers as described below. Targets: Use larger targets since distances are out to 50 yards.
Darts: Dart board targets to be used. You start with 300 points and the quickest to 0 wins (least # of rounds to get to 0; 3 arrows per round; must hit 0 exactly). Outer rings are x2 and inner circle on dart board is x3. Any line hits are up to the shooter to decide which number will be chosen for their scoring.
Poker: A deck of cards are placed on a target or two. Players rotate turns shooting at the cards to obtain the best poker hand.
TicTacToe: Self explanitory. Various sized tic-tac-toe boards. TicTacToe boards are a 3×3 grid.
REG: See description below.
For folks who cannot attend regularly scheduled SAS events, this is an option to participate in a form of competition while improving your skills. Every 2 week period the ground marker distances and target numbers will change on a score card. When REG is the scheduled game in the Summer Archery Series, your scores during that event will be collected for that 2 week cycle. New score cards will be placed in the mailbox every Off-Friday, unless otherwise noted, kicking off the 2 week REG challenge.
Session 1: June XX – July XX; Scorecards will be collected on July XX. New scorecards will be placed in the mailbox the same day for the start of Session 2;
Session 2: July XX – July XX; Scorecards will be collected on July XX. New scorecards will be placed in the mailbox the same day for the start of Session 3; Note: For SAS Event #4 we are scheduled to play the REG game, so if you attend SAS on 7/XX, that scorecard will count for this 2 week period.
Session 3: July XX – July XX; Scorecards will be collected on July XX. New scorecards will be placed in the mailbox the same day for the start of Session 4
Session 4: Aug XX – Aug XX; Scorecards will be collected on Aug XX. New scorecards will be placed in the mailbox the same day for the start of Session 6; Note: For SAS Event #10 we are scheduled to play the REG game, so if you attend SAS on 8/XX, that scorecard will count for this 2 week period.
Session 5: Aug XX – Aug XX; Scorecards will be collected on Aug XX so prizes can be provided at the Summer Bull Roast
Game Description: This weekly game will utilize a number of various targets and distance markers on the West Walking Range Loop. The objective is to become a better range estimator. In this game you will estimate the target distance and be scored on both shot placement AND estimating accuracy (range finder required – and set to the “horizontal component distance” measurement setting). Targets and distances for the week will be captured on the scorecards. These scorecards will be posted in the mailbox mounted to the small archery pavilion. Drop them in the Completed Scorecard Envelope located in the small black mailbox after you’re done, and we’ll have prizes at the end of the season. This bi-weekly event will kickoff on 6/20/25, each bi-weekly game cycle will begin on each Off Friday through the months of June-Aug, and will conclude on 8/20.
